The rainbow ribbon is for LGBTQIA (lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender, queer or questioning, intersex, and asexual or allied.) pride and awareness. It is a reference to the rainbow pride flag.
Each color has a meaning. The original flag included hot pink and turquoise, but they were removed in favor of a traditional 6 color rainbow. The original colors were given the meanings of:
- Red: Life
- Orange: Healing
- Yellow: Sunlight
- Green: Nature
- Turquoise: Art / Magic
- Indigo: Serenity
- Purple: Spirit
- Hot Pink: Sex
