Miscarriage and stillbirth awareness uses a pink and blue awareness ribbon for its cause. October is miscarriage and stillbirth awareness month. October 15th is Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day.
The U.S. National Institutes of Health (NIH) defines miscarriage under the broader term of pregnancy loss:
Pregnancy loss occurs when a pregnancy ends unexpectedly before the 20th week. It is sometimes called early pregnancy loss, mid-trimester pregnancy loss, miscarriage, spontaneous abortion, or fetal demise.
The NIH defines a stillbirth or a stillborn infant as:
Stillbirth refers to the death of a fetus at or after the 20th week of pregnancy.
The NIH notes infant loss as:
Infant mortality refers to the death of an infant between 1 day and 1 year of age.
The stillbirth and miscarriage pregnancy loss awareness ribbon is available on a variety of merchandise that already has a variety of messages. There are also blank blue and pink awareness ribbon merchandise options too that can be customized. All items in the Awareness Gallery store can be customized with your own words and images.
There is also another Awareness Gallery page featuring infant loss awareness ribbons.
