Infant loss awareness is a cause that includes pregnancy loss with miscarriage or stillbirth to baby loss for many reasons including “sudden infant death syndrome” or SIDS. <\/p>\n\n\n\n

Per the U.S. National Institutes of Health for Child Health and Human Development, “SIDS<\/a> is the sudden, unexplained death of an infant younger than 1 year of age that remains unexplained after a complete investigation.\u200b” <\/p>\n\n\n\n

The NICHD defines “Stillbirth<\/a> refers to the death of a fetus at or after the 20th week of pregnancy. There are many causes of stillbirth, ranging from birth defects to problems with the pregnancy. Often, health care providers cannot determine a specific cause for a particular stillbirth.”<\/p>\n\n\n\n
