There are three types of Down Syndrome:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Trisomy 21 (Most common ~95%),<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Translocation Down syndrome (rare ~3%)<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Mosaic Down syndrome (rare ~2%).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>People born with Down Syndrome have different mental and physical features.  They have a lower IQ (intelligence level), almond-shaped eyes, flattened face, and are shorter in height compared to their other adults or children.  <\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.specialolympics.org\/stories\/news\/down-syndrome-awareness-month\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">October is Down Syndrome Awareness Month<\/a>.  <a href=\"https:\/\/www.un.org\/en\/observances\/down-syndrome-day\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noreferrer noopener\">The United Nations declared March 21st as World Down Syndrome Day.<\/a> The third month on the 21st day was chosen as a reference to Trisomy 21.
